“Organic, Natural, Wild-Caught, Free-Range, Gluten-Free”

Are These Foods Really Improving My Health?

Saturday, Sept 11th from 11-12:30

Kaplan Medical Center in Mc Lean, VA

We all want to make food choices that help us get and stay healthier!  Many of us shop at special stores and pay more to purchase products labeled:

“All Natural,” “Gluten-Free,” “Free-Range Eggs,” or “Organic Salmon”

But which of these terms is actually guaranteed to meet a specific US Food & Drug Administration standard? . . . If you guessed “NONE,” you’re right!

On Saturday, September 11, from 11am to 12:30pm, Cheryl Harris, Registered Dietician, will describe:

-  The health benefits of organic and free-range foods,
-  Which foods are most important to buy “organic,”
-  “Wild” vs. “farmed” fish — and the levels of contamination in each,
-  The scoop on Genetically Modified Foods (GMOs), and
-  The best local sources of nutrient-rich & no-pesticide foods.

Cheryl holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health Nutrition from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University. In addition to meeting individually with clients, Cheryl writes for a number of highly regarded dietary publications, and she is a sought-after public speaker on a range of nutritional health topics.
